June 21 to July 16, 2010

AMS attended the Pacific Ballet Academy’s Summer Intensive Course 2010.  She was in Level IV (Pre-Intermediate), M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  This workshop ran from June 21 to July 16.  After the intensive course, AMS was able to do the splits and really improved her technique.  She also had an introduction to contemporary dance, jazz dance, costume design and ballet history.  What a great thing to do this summer.

June 21 (Monday)  Missed this class because Dad misplaced his glasses and couldn’t drive me to class.

June 22 (Tuesday)

Teachers: Anton Pankevich.

Focus: Technique, Stretching, that’s about it

Comments:  I liked Anton’s teaching style.

June 23 (Wednesday)

Teachers: Anton Pankevich, Brianne Ackroyd

Focus: Technique and Character

Comments: My feet hurt because I didn’t have character shoes to wear.  But my dad bought me a pair afterwards.

June 24 (Thursday)

Teachers: Sarah Arnold

Focus: Technique, Era of Romantic Ballet and Variations.  Dance history.

Comments: I like the romantic era of ballet.  This style is more my dance style.

June 25 (Friday)

Teachers: Kimberly Saunders (Miss Kim)

Focus: Ballet Technique and Jazz

Comments: My feet hurt after dancing Jazz.  Hmm… not sure about Jazz.

June 28 (Monday)

Teacher: Marion Chaeff and Rima Chaeff

Focus: Ballet technique, stretching and contemporary ballet.

Comments: Contemporary dance is a lot like Jazz.  My feet also hurt after dancing contemporary.
