Bubble-head Nightmare Nurse

Destroyed head prosthetics
Halloween

This is by far AMS’ darkest and most frightening costume. She came up with the idea and we then found bits and pieces of material, foam, yarn, polyester fill. The mask came from a street vendor I ran into in San Francisco while attending a conference.
A vision of a waking nightmare and paralyzing terror in the suburbs.
AMS wore her costume to school for the high school Halloween Contest. She didn’t win a prize but most of her friends thought she should have gotten it.

This was the source of inspiration for AMS’ costume. A more benign bug-like representation.

Winner of “Best Costume in the Solo Category”. $50 prize.

Here I am as a Nexus Replicant reloaded. It’s 40 years after Rachel and Deckard escape from the city. Both are dead and I’m an Android, Resilience Class Nexus Replicant, Mod J in the Investigative Security Branch, trying to uncover a mystery. This takes me to the Off World.
But today, I relish the fun of scaring 6th graders and making them uncomfortable with the simple combinations of clothing and makeup.

I also became the unwitting muse for the sequel to the “Blade Runner”.

This year, AMS is all into the trappings of steam punk. With visions of “The Time Machine” by Jules Verne or “Leviathan” by Scott Westerfield, she aimed at creating a post-apocalyptic Victorian steam punk look with found odds and ends. No costume from the era would be complete without a vacuum cleaner hose, goggles, brass compass, monocular, skeleton keys and a leather bomber jacket. Are you a clanker?…or a Darwinist?
This year, AMS made her Halloween costume as part of a project for school. She chose an Ohlone Native Girl costume. With some research, she was able to copy the style.

Of course, she had to wear the costume to the annual Halloween parade at school.
At the Spooky Hop…
At a Halloween party, she got costumed as a Vampire.
