San Francisco Ballet School 2009 – 2010

AMS has been invited to attend formal ballet studies at SFBS for the 2009-2010 school year.  She has been placed in the “Level 2 Girls – Technique” class.  She’s therefore eligible to audition for the professional production of San Francisco Ballet’s “The Nutcracker”.

START: August 31, 2009
END: June 4, 2010

Ballet 2A Girls – Technique:  Mon, Wed, Fri     5:45-7:00 pm
Ballet 2B Girls – Technique:  Tue, Thu     5:45-7:00 pm &  Sat 10:00-11:15 am

After auditioning two times before, AMS had a third audition on May 2.  The following week, SFBS called and asked her to come back to join a Level 3 class for further evaluation.  The class was clearly over her head but she did the best she could.

She received an invitation today (May 15) to attend the 2009-2010 school year in Level 2.  We don’t know yet whether she’ll be in 2A or 2B.

CONGRATULATIONS!

  1. AMS was too tall to try out for the Nutcracker Ballet. The maximum height for Level IIB is 4? – 7 and she’s 4? – 8 1/2. This will actually be to her advantage next year in Level III where she’ll be able to audition for more roles and there won’t be a height restriction.

  2. Amelia continues at SFBS… it’s been a long journey. Such a big commitment. Now towards the Student Showcase in May 2010.

  3. May 20. Level 6 Men’s class observed AMS Level II class and AMS’ class observed the Level 6 dancers in their class. AMS noted they demonstrated pas de deux in their class with the Level 6 Women’s class. These are all stepping stones to intermediate studies.
